Go. That was what Jesus commanded to His disciples moments before He ascended into heaven.
But Where?
Where did He expect His disciples to go?
Into all the world.
Wow–that’s a tall order. How did Jesus expect His disciples to go into all the world? Didn’t He know that they’d suffer horrendous persecution? Didn’t He know how seemingly impossible His command sounded?
He did.
That’s why He proceeded to say, “Lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the age.”
Whoa.
Fast forward about 2,000 years, and this same command still applies to the church.
But so does the promise!
Jesus is with us now, at this very moment! Therefore, we don’t need to fear the gates of hell. Jesus has promised that they will not prevail against the church (Matt. 16:18).
It’s for this reason that we, Bayshore Baptist Church, place such a huge emphasis on missions. Whether here in the United States, or halfway around the globe, we know that God is working and that Christ is building His church. Here’s the question for you:
Are you a part of it?
We’d love to have you visit us and, more importantly, join us in the greatest missionary endeavor of the world: To make God known to the world through the power of Christ.
O, and by the way, there’s something amazing about this missionary endeavor:
It can’t fail.
