Let’s all think back to our school days. Some of you don’t have to think back, you can just think! What’s one class you remember having where you thought to yourself, “This is so dumb. I’m never going to use this in my life!!!” Depending on your personality and future goals, some classes were immediately relevant to you, while others—well—let’s just say were NOT.
Depending on what stripe of Christianity you grew up in, you most likely heard one of two things: The Book of Acts describes HOW the church should still be and function today; or, that Acts is to be viewed as a history book of the post-resurrection church and little more. (Meaning, don’t be getting your doctrine from the pages of Acts, otherwise you just may end up like one of them Pentecostal folk!)
It is my hope that you see Acts’ relevance to the Church today–that you see its relevance to YOU today!
